It wouldn't be Computex without another Eee PC announcement and today's is a big one. ASUS officially introduced the next-generation of Eee PC, the X101:

The X101 weighs under 950g and is only 17.6mm thick.

The X101 is presumably Atom based and it will be available either with a HDD or SSD. The default configuration will ship with MeeGo and start at $199.

Intel said their next gen 32nm Atom will cost 30 - 40% less. Which is a good thing since they are too expensive for what they are used anyway.

But will this new X101 be using 32nm Atom? Dual Core? Or am i asking a bit too much for $199. :P

At 1.5GHz, the N550 is a good guess:

The Z670 is the only other 1.5GHz Atom, but I suspect it'd be woefully inappropriate:

Edit: Ppl are reporting that it's an N435 (yet to be released)

We may see an updated Atom lineup in Q3. That would just be a change in clocks though with possible price cuts. 32nm Atoms will come in 2012 IIRC.

My question is about size-capacity of the battery. I hope they use big enough battery I expect at list 9+ hours on this thing or am I aking too much for 199$. :)

Oak trial is meant to be a low power part for tablets, isn't it? I wonder how its performance compares to Atom's made for netbooks?

If you have an old copy of xp laying around will you be able to buy this for 199 and put xp on it without any issues?
