Pink is a color that is rarely used for PC hardware, however over the last couple of months we spotted three manufacturers adopting pink designs for desktops, laptops, peripherals, and even an all-in-one cooling system. This week ASUS ROG has followed, and started sales of multiple gaming peripherals featuring pink with a grey color scheme.

The ASUS ROG PNK family of products includes the ROG Gladius II Origin PNK mouse, the ROG Sheath PNK mousepad, the ROG Strix Fusion 300 PNK headset, as well as the ROG Strix Flare PNK keyboard with Cherry’s MX Red or MX Brown switches. Instead of choosing bright pink color it once used for a ZenBook UX laptop, the company decided to go with rather soft accents of pink, which will be suitable for anyone interested.

Since we are dealing with ASUS ROG-branded hardware, all the products are equipped with addressable RGB LEDs that can be controlled using the company’s Aura software.

ASUS ROG’s PNK peripherals are currently available directly from ASUS in the USA for $39.99 (mouse pad), $99.99 (mouse/headset), and $179.99 (keyboard). All the products are marked as limited edition, so we do not expect wide availability.

This post was a great test of which men are insecure in their masculinity...

Well done, Asus, for finding this surprisingly appealing shade of pink. I'm impressed. I normally strongly dislike pastels, and in particular that peach-like shade of pink that is quite often used for "pink" products, yet this shade manages to allude to that while being really damn appealing. I doubt I'll be buying any of these peripherals (if I'm getting a new mouse, keyboard, or headset there are far better options out there), but that mousepad might be just what I need to add a splash of color to my desk. Interesting. The obnoxious ROG branding is even less terrible when it loses some of its over-the-top machismo in this colorway.

More colours is always good, and having a choice of things that don't try to scream "GENERIC GAMER" is nice too. Not sure about the keyboard, though - I find the decisions about how to split the colours up to be a bit jarring. The mouse and headset seem better in that regard.

I'll be interesting to see if these sell. I know a few people who love pink. Maybe they'll try some more colors. I wouldn't mind a lime-green and white keyboard and mouse combo.

But apparently this shade of pink sucks. lol

Looks okay. I prefer Razer's pink stuff. They started it last year with some breast cancer awareness limited time frame stuff. Must have took off, since they ended up just making it part of their lineup. I won't buy any of Razer's stuff though. Their quality has gone down.

Guess other manufacturers noticed and followed along.
